We start our Concert Series with a young man who is “wowing” audiences with his virtuosity on the piano.
Seventeen year old Jakob Forde, on September 24, 2:30 pm, piano. Don’t miss it. Hear the “Warsaw Concerto,” written for the 1941 British film “Dangerous Moonlight” about the Polish struggle against the 1939 invasion by the Nazis. A Polish pianist and composer sets aside his career to become a fighter pilot. The music became very popular in Britain during World War II. In the United States, the movie title was “Suicide Squadron.” He’s also playing the “Moonlight Sonata” by Beethoven, Chopin’s “Ballade”, Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody”. He will play organ on a piano/organ duet.
